TEERE DONATES BABY LOTIONS TO HOSPITALS 26th December, 2018

Four hospitals in the Upper East Region have each received over 100 boxes of German-made baby lotions for onward distribution to patients under their care including babies, their mothers and pregnant women. The hospitals include the Bongo District Hospital, the AfriKids Medical Centre, the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital and the Navrongo War Memorial Hospital. An Elated mother holding her own share of the package TEERE, a Bolgatanga-based Non-Governmental Organisation [NGO] with a national outreach, made the donation at separate brief ceremonies to these hospitals on Boxing Day. TEERE is primarily, a local-governance-centered NGO which has since successfully implemented its flagship programmed christened “the TEERE Local Governance Forum” [TLGF], across three districts in the Upper East Region. BONGO ASSEMBLY ACHIEVES REVENUE TARGET

The Assembly had earlier in 2018, set and approved an amount of 232,122.72 Ghana Cedis to be mobilised from local revenue sources within its jurisdiction. Bongo District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon. Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga made this disclosure in his sessional address at the Assembly’s 3rd Ordinary Meeting held in Bongo last Friday. The Bongo District Director of the Department of Agriculture, Mr. Edgar Dra has acknowledged government’s relentless efforts and programmes towards the development and modernisation of Ghana’s agricultural sector stressing that, the theme for the 34 th National Farmers’ Day “Agriculture: Moving Ghana Beyond Aid”, further indicates the importance and seriousness the Nana Addo-led administration places on agriculture.      Delivering his welcome address at the district’s farmers’ day event held in Beo-Akayonga on Friday, Mr. Dra noted for instance that, the successful implementation of the flagship “Planting for Food and Jobs” [PFJ] Programme which is in its second year in 2018, had impacted significantly on the yields of farmers in the area. 3RD DISBURSEMENT OF DISABILITY FUND TAKES PLACE IN BONGO 4th DEC., 2018

The District Chief Executive [DCE] for Bongo in the Upper East Region, Mr. Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga has assured members of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations in the district that, the Assembly will not divert statutory funds meant for Persons With Disabilities [PWDs] not matter the financial difficulties the Assembly may be facing. Bongo DCE, Mr. Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga , making a statement  The DCE gave the assurance in an address he delivered on Tuesday December 4, 2018 at a ceremony to disburse funds to some 58 beneficiaries selected from across the district. This assurance is timely as it comes just a day after the celebration of the International Day for PWDs.
