THE POLICE WON'T CONSIDER FAMILY TIES & FRIENDSHIPS IN APPLYING LAW DURING ELECTIONS 21st NOV., 2024

The Paga District Police Commander, ASP Mr. Ziaullah Khalil Ibrahim has assured citizens in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region and voters in the Chiana-Paga Constituency that, the Police will apply the law firmly and fairly during and after the country’s 2024 general elections. The Kassena-Nankana West District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Gerard Ataogye has assured farmers and Ghanaians that, the Nana Addo-led government will continue to do all it can, to ensure sustainable food security in Ghana. This it will do, “by working with developmental partners and non-governmental organisations in channeling all resources and expertise towards food security through the implementation of various climate-resilient agricultural practices”, he explained. 80,000.00 GHANA CEDIS DISBURSED TO DISABILITY COMMUNITY IN KASSENA-NANKANA WEST 11TH OCTOBER, 2024

The disability community in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region has benefited from a cash disbursement to the tune of 80,000 Ghana Cedis. Numbering 40 in all, the beneficiaries each received a cheque for 2,000.00 Ghana Cedis. The monies were made available from the Disability Fund, a component of Ghana’s District Assemblies’ Common Fund. The Government of Ghana promulgated the disability Fund in 2005 the fund, with the aim to build the capacity of persons with disabilities (PWDs), particularly those outside of formal employment, to enable them engage in livelihood generation activities.   It began with an initial two percent [2%] proportion of the Common Fund and later got raised to three percent [3%] resulting from advocacy efforts by various stakeholders. IPDC HOLDS 2ND MEETING TOWARDS PEACEFUL ELECTIONS 2024 10TH OCTOBER, 2024

As Ghana readies herself to hold her 9th general elections on December 7, 2024, Upper East Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. James Abdulai Ayaala has observed that all previous eight episodes of elections were generally peaceful, with accompanying smooth transitions of power. The NCCE Director thus charged Ghanaians not to do anything untoward that has the tendency to jeopardize all the beautiful democratic credentials the country has toiled for and gained through the periods. “From 1992 to date, it has come to be accepted in Ghana that, democracy is the best system of governance and all well-meaning Ghanaians ought to keep building on this path”, he emphasized.
