NATCCU REMAINS SOLID DESPITE FINANCIAL SECTOR CRISIS 28th DEC., 2019

The outgoing Board Chairman of the Navrongo Teachers Cooperative Credit Union [NATCCU] Mr. Isaac Amuriyaga, has made a passionate appeal to members of the Union not to indulge in panic withdrawals as such tendencies may shake the solid foundation of the Union. RED CROSS CALLS FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF EMERGENCY FUND 10th December, 2019

The Ghana Red Cross Society [GCRS] has presented assorted relief items to some 42 victims across four communities in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region. The communities included Tindonmologo, Sorkabisi, Tanzui and Zorbisi. These recipients were mostly persons that suffered in the devastating floods in the just-ended 2019 rainy season.   Red Cross Sec.-General, Mr. Addo [in while lacoste] presenting items to a beneficiary Speaking at a brief ceremony held this Tuesday in Tanzui, Secretary-General of the GRCS, Mr. Samuel Kofi Addo revealed that, funding for the procurement of the relief items came from the Disaster Relief Emergency Fund [DREF] at the International Federation in Geneva valued at about 150 thousand Swiss Francs. GOVERNMENT’S ASSISTANCE TO FARMERS & AGRIC SECTOR WILL CONTINUE – DCE 6th DECEMBER, 2019

District Chief Executive [DCE] for Bongo in the Upper East Region Hon. Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga has given the strongest indication that government will continue to enhance interventions in the agric sector and also, roll out  new  ones to help farmers increase their yields. Bongo DCE, Hon. Ayinbisa [in blue top] presenting the ultimate prize Hon. Ayamga gave the indication in his keynote address this Friday to mark the 35 th National Farmers’ Day event held in Namoo, a surburb of the Bongo District. The year’s event was themed “Enhancing Small Scale Agricultutre Towards Agribusiness Development”.   He gave the assurance that a warehouse being constructed under 1-District 1-Warehouse policy in the Bogrigo community, would be completed and handed over for use within the first quarter of 2020 as the current works on the facility had reached 90 completion rate.
