A letter seen by atogewe.blogpsot.com dated 7th September, 2020 and signed by PƐ Asagpaare II who is affectionately called the Navro-Pio, entreated indigenes and all other residents within the jurisdiction of the Navrongo traditional area to ensure that the ban is respected and that no one indeed, contravenes it.

The said letter which was copied only to Nabiina Radio, based in Tono and the Municipal Police Commander – Navrongo is quoted in parts to read “as usual we expect the cooperation of all and sundry to ensure a peaceful period for self-reflection and rededication of ourselves, land and property to God”.

"Nagla" dance moves
What this annual ban which usually remains in force for up one month implies is that, there shall be a total freeze on all manner and forms of public noise making such as drumming and dancing, jams and parties, political rallies/campaigns with loud booming sounds and any other such noises in the public space that have the tendency of disrupting the ban.

History has it that, the ancestors and forefathers of the people of Navrongo the Kassenas, have in several decades past observed the ban annually which according to myths, was to curtail public noise making which could mystically trigger heavy windy rains resulting in the destruction of early millet and other crops.
