In his remarks to open the festival this Wednesday dubbed, the District Level Public Primary Schools Reading Competition, Kassena-Nankana West DCE Hon. Gerard Ataogye described the exercise as very relevant to the upbringing of the pupils because “children are able to recognize the importance of expression when they read”. He added that it was through reading that children can scan their environment and extract information and thus thanked the initiators and sponsors of the reading festival, stressing that its introduction into the country’s educational system will serve as a strong catalyst in grooming children to climb high, the academic ladder.
