OUR ASSEMBLY REMAINS RESOLUTE ON DEV'T DRIVE - DCE 20th DECEMBER, 2025

As Management of the Kassena-Nankana West District in the Upper East Region brings the 2025 working year to a close, the District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurugo has shared with the residents of the district and the general public, some important projects the Assembly has resolved to execute at the commencement of the 2026 working year. In his presentation of the Executive Committee’s [Execo] report at the Assembly’s last and third ordinary meeting for the year held on Friday, December 19, 2025, the DCE disclosed that befitting toilets cum urinal facilities will be constructed at all the major markets in the district, a modern livestock market also earmarked for construction in the capital, Paga while water facilities will be provided at major markets in the district. GUARD AGAINST BUSHFIRES, PRACTISE SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE – DCE 5th DECEMBER, 2025

Hon. Akurugo (in Smock "L") Presenting Ultimate Prize  Kassena-Nankana West District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurugo has highlighted the growing threats posed by bushfires which has become an annual unpleasant phenomenon in the district. He noted that each dry season some unscrupulous people often ignite bushfires that cause a lot harm to the environment stressing; “bushfires devastate farmlands, harm and kill livestock, stored produce and also degrade soil fertility, undermining the tireless efforts of our farmers”.  Hon. Akurugo made this observation in his keynote address the district’s celebration of Ghana’s 41 st National Farmers’ Day held in Paga on Friday, December 1, 2025. HEALTH, EDUCATION AND WATER SECTORS RECEIVE BOOST IN KNW 1ST DECEMBER, 2025

MP [in reflector jacket]; DCE [in white smock]  The Kassena-Nankana West District Assembly has cut sod for the construction of projects across the health, education and water sectors in the district. The projects, all valued at 3,589,504.23 Ghana Cedis are for the benefit of the Boania community, the Paga Senior High School and the Mirigu community among others. Boania for instance, gets a modern 3-Unit classroom block with ancillary facilities including a staff common room, headteacher’s office, store, 4-seater toilet facility and a changing room for girls to assist in fixing themselves during their monthly flows. This project is costed at 1,392,245.14 Ghana Cedis and is scheduled to be completed within six calendar months. The District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon.
