TWO ISD SATFF MAKE LIST OF DISTINGUISHED CIVIL SERVANTS – 2025 SERVICE YEAR 14/08/2026
Some
two (2) members of staff from the Information Services Department (ISD), made
the list of some 100 distinguished hardworking civil and public servants who
received awards last Friday, August 14, 2026 at the Civil Service Awards night
in Accra for the 2025 service year. The annual awards scheme is purposed to
reward officers who exhibit sterling performance and commitment at the duties
assigned them during a particular service year which not only serves as
encouragement to the awardees but also, to tickle and challenge other officers
to strive for excellence in the overall discharge of the mandate of the various
civil service institutions in Ghana.

The annual awards scheme, is under the auspices of the Office of Head of the Civil Service (OHCS) with the 2025 awards ceremony themed; “The Resetting Agenda For Sustainable Development In Ghana: The Civil Service’s Responsibilities”.
During a brief interaction with the awardees at her office before the ceremony, Director of the ISD, Dr. Nafisa Mahama commended her officers for their diligence and positive work attitude that made them standout out during the period and charged them not to rest on their oars on returning to work, but continue to work even better than before. She then led the award winners, including Peter Atogewe Wedam, the Municipal Information Officer for the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly in the Upper East Region and Ophelia Opokua Yamoah, from the Records Office at the ISD’s Headquarters, to the awards ceremony held at the Alisa Hotel.
Special
Guest of Honour at the awards night, the Vice President of the Republic of
Ghana, H.E Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang commended
all the award winners for their sterling outputs at their various offices
and entreated other workers in the Civil Service who did not make the list, not
to feel discouraged but rather, see it as a challenge to up their game and do
better going forward. The Vice President noted that, the Civil Service cannot
be built and sustained by only award-winning staff but the whole population of
workers in the larger Civil Service family.
H.E Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized, “When excellence is acknowledged, it rewards those who have given their best but it also inspires others and sends a clear message about the values an institution chooses to uphold”. She noted that, the awards thus contribute to the performance-driven culture the government and the OHCS seek to build across the civil service. According to her, “The success of the Resetting Ghana Agenda will depend in no small measure, on the Civil Service. I therefore urge all Civil Service staff to come fully onboard”.
Meanwhile in his remarks earlier, Head of the
Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh noted that, “The government’s Reset
Agenda requires civil servants to abandon “business as usual” and prioritize
citizens in all public service delivery”. He added that, structural and
national goals will only succeed if the administrative machinery shifts focus
directly to the people and thus urged workers in the Service to elevate
standards of integrity, innovation and efficiency in their daily office
schedules and assignments given them. .jpeg)
