OCTOBER 2 REMEMBER 30TH OCT., 2009 BY BLAC W. PROMOTIONS - NAVRONGO


On October 30, 2009, Mr. Peter Atogewe Wedam [aka BLAC W.], the Chief Executive Officer of BLAC W. INVESTMENTS organised a successful HIV/AIDS entertainment programme dubbed OCTOBER to REMEMBER on the theme "Giving HIV/AIDS education to the youth through entertainment".

He was able to bring on board some staff of the district health directorate of the Kassena_Nankana East district who carried out Voluntary Counseling and Testing at the programme. The health staff earlier gave a talk on HIV and AIDS.

Also a song and poem competition on the disease formed part of the main show whilst five musicians of Upper East descent performed to the admiration of the audience. They included Mary Azubam, Anthony Zunga, Blac W., D & D Awiabia and Silver Boy.

Close to 800 people in the Navrongo township, Paga and elsewhere attended the programme. All age groups had representation in the audience.

Meanwhile Miss Karin Whilms a Dutch lady working with the V.S.O in Bolgatanga, Miss Naomi of the National Health Insurance Scheme Navrongo office, Mr. Alex Seyara and Mr. Sani Obama both graduates of the University for Development Studies sat as judges who selected winners in a song competition.
