Several hundreds of young children in the Yorogo-Gaabiisi and the Dorongo-Aperiga communities of the Bolgatanga Municipality in the Upper East Region, will no longer trek longer distances outside of their communities to access basic education. This follows the successful completion and subsequent handing over, of two newly-constructed Kindergarten (KG) school blocks in these two communities, projects which together cost the Assembly 1,532,672.9 Ghana Cedis. The Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM), has commended President John Dramani Mahama and his administration for some key interventions undertaken at the Paga Senior High School (SHS) in support of the school’s development and uplifting of teaching and learning standards. H.E President John D. Mahama The commendation was contained in a press release dated 7 th September, 2026 and signed by the Chairman of PAYOM, Mr. Aborah D. Wenewome. The group was particularly excited at the completion and 13 th August-commissioning of the school’s E-Block project, as well as the President’s directive to authorities of the Ghana Education Service to absorb the school into a full boarding status by start of the new academic year.
