Ghanaians woke up to the sad news of the passing of Mr. Clement Kubindiwor Tedam in the wee hours of Friday, 26 th April, 2019. The late Hon. C.K Tedam, as he was affectionately called by family and close associates, was born in 1925 in Nandom in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Late C.K. Tedam    Late C.K Tedam was a Royal from the Paga Paramountcy in the Upper East Region of Ghana, he was a teacher by training and became a politician much later due to his passion to influence decision making that could inure to the benefit of his people both locally and nationally. He subsequently won elections for the very first time in 1954 as an Independent Candidate. He was a founding member of the Northern People’s Party in the politics of the then Gold Coast. The Bissa community in the Pusiga District of the Upper East Region of Ghana, has celebrated its annual Zekula Festival under the theme; “Unifying the Youth for Peaceful Co-existence Through Culture and Education”. “Zekula” in the Bissa language, simply means unity and thus, the festival under the auspices of the Bissa traditional authorities and the Bissa Development Association [BDA], is celebrated annually as a convergence event for all Bissas both in and outside Pusiga District as well as Bissas in the diaspora, to meet for familiarisation and deliberations to enhance development in the area. The 2019 edition of the well-patronised festival, marked the 15 th in the series.
