HE WAS MY CONFIDANTE – UE REGIONAL MIN.’S FOND MEMORIES OF HON. C.K. TEDAM 26th April, 2019

Ghanaians woke up to the sad news of the passing of Mr. Clement Kubindiwor Tedam in the wee hours of Friday, 26 th April, 2019. The late Hon. C.K Tedam, as he was affectionately called by family and close associates, was born in 1925 in Nandom in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Late C.K. Tedam    Late C.K Tedam was a Royal from the Paga Paramountcy in the Upper East Region of Ghana, he was a teacher by training and became a politician much later due to his passion to influence decision making that could inure to the benefit of his people both locally and nationally. He subsequently won elections for the very first time in 1954 as an Independent Candidate. He was a founding member of the Northern People’s Party in the politics of the then Gold Coast. Thereafter, Mr. Tedam won elections again in 1956 on the ticket of this party he had helped to establish. The Bissa community in the Pusiga District of the Upper East Region of Ghana, has celebrated its annual Zekula Festival under the theme; “Unifying the Youth for Peaceful Co-existence Through Culture and Education”. “Zekula” in the Bissa language, simply means unity and thus, the festival under the auspices of the Bissa traditional authorities and the Bissa Development Association [BDA], is celebrated annually as a convergence event for all Bissas both in and outside Pusiga District as well as Bissas in the diaspora, to meet for familiarisation and deliberations to enhance development in the area. The 2019 edition of the well-patronised festival, marked the 15 th in the series. It was held at Kulungugu, a vital town that cannot be discounted in the narration of Ghanaian history and which has become the regular grounds for the event for over a decade now. GOVERNMENT COMMENDED FOR PWALUGU DAM PROJECT 15th April, 2019

The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Paulina Patience Abayage has given high marks and strong commendation to the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo-led government for taking concrete steps towards the actualisation of the Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam Project. The Upper East Region’s Talensi district with estimated population of 81,194, is the host of this all-important project. Upper East Reg. Min., Hon. Paulina P. NCCE EDUCATES BILINSA COMMUNITY ON ARAP 1st April, 2019

The Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education [NCCE] in the Builsa North Municipality of the Upper East Region, has concluded a month-long public education on the Accountability, Rule of law and Anti-corruption Programme [ARAP].  An Official [hand raised] At One Of The Sessions The ARAP intervention is a European Union [EU]-sponsored anti-corruption programme being implemented in collaboration with the Government of Ghana with the NCCE as the lead-implementing agency.
