OVER 10 PROJECT SITES HANDED OVER TO CONTRACTORS IN KWD UNDER SOCO 19th NOV., 2023

A number of sites earmarked for the construction of several projects ranging from market stalls, CHPS compounds, Culverts, mechanized boreholes to a butcher shop and more, have been handed over to contractors for execution across several communities in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region. Kassena-Nankana West District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon. Gerard Ataogye who led a team including his District Coordinating Director, Mr. Abubakari Amadu and other technical officers to hand over these sites to contractors, disclosed that all these projects fall under the SOCO Sub-Projects. RTI COMMISSION SCHOOLS STAKEHOLDERS, SEEKS OPINIONS IN UPPER EAST 13TH NOV., 2023

  Authorities of the Right To Information [RTI] Commission have engaged varied stakeholders from across the Upper East Region for a day’s public lecture in Bolgatanga, regarding the Commission’s mandate and how the RTI law can be beneficial for nation building, if the citizenry takes advantage of the law. The Upper East Region becomes the 15 th Region in the series of nationwide public fora geared at demystifying the Commission’s work as well soliciting inputs from the public and identifiable groups among other important objectives. PAYOM, GIS COLLABORATE TO ENSURE BORDER SECURITY 3rd NOVEMBER, 2023

  A one-day capacity building workshop on the Ghana National Border Security Strategy, has taken place in Paga, capital of the Kassena-Nankana West District in the Upper East Region, with stakeholders emphasizing the need for the effective implementation of a border security strategy in the area, like the one the Ghana government recently launched. This is to help to strengthen social cohesion and trust from the border communities to help prevent threats of cross-border crime.  A Cross-border Assemble of Security Officers The Paga Youth Movement, PAYOM organised the workshop in conjunction with the Paga Command of the Ghana Immigration Service [GIS] and in partnership with the Star Ghana Foundation and funding support from the UK Government.
