  The Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Select Committee of Ghana’s Parliament, has charged the Management and operators of the Tono Irrigation Scheme [T.I.S] to do their possible best to make the Scheme competitive and attractive enough so as to bring on board well-resourced investors for the ultimate benefit of farmers in the area.   The Upper East Regional Minister Hon. Tangoba Abayage, has assured the leadership and members of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs [UE/RHC] that, the Regional Coordinating Council under her administration will continue to assist the House in the discharge of its mandate across all traditional areas of the region. Tangoba gave the assurance in her address at the official inauguration of the House this Wednesday afternoon and also acknowledged that, “the progress and development of our Region cannot be achieved without the active participation and support of traditional rulers”. NAVRO-PIO ISSUES BAN ON NOISE MAKING 20th SEPTEMBER, 2020

  The Paramount Chief of the Navrongo Traditional Area in the Upper East Region, P Ɛ Dennis Aniakwoa Asagpaare Balinia Adda II has issued a ban on noise making within the traditional area with effect from September 15, 2020 to 15 th October, 2020. Navro-Pio, Pe Asagpaare A letter seen by atogewe.blogpsot.com dated 7 th September, 2020 and signed by P Ɛ Asagpaare II who is affectionately called the Navro-Pio, entreated indigenes and all other residents within the jurisdiction of the Navrongo traditional area to ensure that the ban is respected and that no one indeed, contravenes it. HON. TANGOBA ENCOURAGES CANDIDATES AS BECE STARTS IN UPPER EAST 14th Sept., 2020

The 2020 Basic Education Examination Certificate [BECE] has started across the Upper East Region with an estimated 22,600 candidates from all Junior High Schools [JHS] including public and private sitting for the exam. Hon. Tangoba [holding mic] addressing candidates @ BOGISS Records from the regional directorate of the Ghana Education Service [GES], further segregates this total number of candidates into 10,732 boys and 11,868 girls comprising students from all the 15 administrative municipalities and districts.
