DLE RUNNING SMOOTHLY IN CHIANA-PAGA CONSTITUENCY 19th DECEMBER, 2023

The District Level Elections [DLE] also known as the district assembly elections, started on time and are running smoothly at almost all the polling stations across the Chiana-Paga Constituency in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region. This observation was made when the Information Services Department [ISD] joined the District Chief Executive [DCE] Hon. Gerard Ataogye and his team, to monitor the conduct of the polls at some random selected polling stations. The DCE’s team left the district capital, Paga before 07:00 AM this morning and headed to the West Zone of the constituency, that is Chiana and its environs so as to catch the commencement of the polls and everything was on point. IOM, BORDER COMMUNITIES CELEBRATE INT. MIGRANTS DAY IN PAGA 15th DEC., 2023

The International Organization for Migration [IOM], has joined some border communities from both Paga in the Kassena-Nankana West District and Namoo, in the Bongo District, to celebrate the 2023 edition of the International Migrants Day at Paga. This year’s celebration under the theme; “Honouring the contributions of migrants and respecting their rights”, also had the full participation of the Paga Command of the Ghana Immigration Service and the Paga Youth Movement. The IOM is a forefront organization within the United Nations [UN], with the mandate of promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. PAGA HOSPITAL PRAISED FOR ZERO RECORD OF MATERNAL DEATHS 12th DEC., 2023

The District Chief Executive [DCE] for the Kassena-Nankana West District in the Upper East Region, Hon. Gerard Ataogye has praised Management of the district’s hospital, located in the district’s capital, Paga for recording zero maternal mortalities for three consecutive years. The hospital has not recorded a single maternity death for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022. The DCE who was addressing the last Ordinary Meeting of the Assembly, held in the Assembly’s conference hall on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, noted that though the facility recorded some two unfortunate maternal deaths in 2023, all stakeholders owed it a responsibility to continue to support the hospital in every way possible, so as to ensure there is no reoccurrence. The DCE also commended the International Organisation of Migration for the construction and furnishing of a case containment/isolation facility cum a 6-unit water closet toilet with a mechanized borehole for the Port Health Authorities at the Paga Border.  D
