Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurugo, the DCE The Kassena-Nankana West District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurugo has presented cheques and bursaries to some 321 Persons Living with Disabilities [PWDs] who had undergone a rigorous assessment by the district’s Disability Fund Management Committee. The cheques amounted to a total of 301,900 Ghana Cedis and the funds for the disbursement, came from the Disability Fund, a 3% component of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund. In his brief remarks at the disbursement ceremony held this Thursday morning at the Assembly’s conference hall, Hon. School children in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region have been given renewed hope and encouragement that just like their counterparts in the bigger cities of Ghana, they too could achieve all their academic dreams of becoming various professionals in their desired fields.
