321 PWDs RECEIVE OVER 300,000 CEDIS GOV’T SUPPORT 11th SEPT., 2025

Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurugo, the DCE The Kassena-Nankana West District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurugo has presented cheques and bursaries to some 321 Persons Living with Disabilities [PWDs] who had undergone a rigorous assessment by the district’s Disability Fund Management Committee. The cheques amounted to a total of 301,900 Ghana Cedis and the funds for the disbursement, came from the Disability Fund, a 3% component of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund. In his brief remarks at the disbursement ceremony held this Thursday morning at the Assembly’s conference hall, Hon. Akurugo said Government recognizes the challenges faced by PWDs and described the disbursement as not just any financial support but “a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to inclusivity, empowerment and dignity for all members of the disability community in our country”. School children in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region have been given renewed hope and encouragement that just like their counterparts in the bigger cities of Ghana, they too could achieve all their academic dreams of becoming various professionals in their desired fields. District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurugo gave this encouragement Tuesday morning in Sirigu when he welcomed first-time students enrolled into the Mother of Mercy Kindergarten and Primary schools; to mark the annual “My First Day in School” event.  Hon. FEED GHANA PROJECT REGISTERS 745 FBOs IN KNWD 19th AUGUST, 2025

Akurugo, the DCE The Feed Ghana Project, recently launched by His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama in his administration’s efforts geared at increasing the country’s food production and job creation for the country’s teaming youth, has so far registered some 745 farmer-based groups scheduled to benefit from the Project in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region. Kassena-Nankana West District Chief Executive [DCE], Hon.
