THE CAMERA MEN ALSO DESERVE CREDIT

I have for long time observed that photojournalists with the audio-visual media known to the layman as cameramen have been contributing a great deal of details to television news items.

Notwithstanding the wait of the cameras that these camera carry on their shoulders, credit for the TV news story is always only to the reporter but I sincerely believe that the photojournalist also deserve credit their photos or video clip.

As a communication scholar, I appreciate the importance of a photo or pix to a news story. Photos give authenticity to the story, carrying the viewer to places where he or she usually would not go and giving life to the news story by featuring speakers at a function.

I must also use this opportunity to congratulate the print media on always giving credit to the photojournalist whose photos make the news item much more authentic.

I wish to appeal to the TV stations namely, GTV, Metro TV, TV Africa, TV3 and etc to start allocating credit lines to photojournalist just they do for their reporters.

MoGCSP & ISD TRAIN ISD OFFICERS FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION ON SWCES 15th FEBRUARY, 2024

A day’s training workshop for the roll out of a pending nation-wide public education and sensitization campaign on the Single Window Citizens Engagement Service [SWCES], has taken place in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, this Thursday, February 15, 2024. The training workshop was organized by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection [MoGCSP] in collaboration with the Information Services Department [ISD]. Group Picture; Participants & Trainers   Some eight Regional Information Officers and their respective metropolitan, municipal as well as district information officers, were the main participants in the training as these officers are the professionals clothed with the requisite skills and ground experience to execute the public education and sensitization campaign on the SWCES in the coming weeks. YOUNG NATIVE DONATES TO NAVRONGO HOSPITAL 2nd MAY, 2023

A citizen of Navrongo and a native of Pungu, Mr.   Adivila Fuseini who is domiciled in the United States, has donated assorted medical consumables and medical equipment to the Navrongo War Memorial Hospital this Tuesday morning.   A Look At Some of The Items The package included 10 digital blood pressure monitors, 10 non-contact infrared thermometers, 10 packs of surgical blades with each containing 100 pieces, 10 surgical single-use sutures and a quantity of scalpel surgical blade holders.  Mr. Adivila [in Red Sweater], Dr. Wedam Receiving       At a brief meeting at the hospital to make the donation, Mr. Adivila disclosed that he learnt of the hospital’s needs through a conversation with the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Eric Wedam who happens to be his classmate some years ago at the Navrongo Secondary School, NAVASCO and so, he decided to help out.  Mr. Adivila who is a service man with the US Army   declined to reveal the cost of the items, but maintained that,
