EC IN BONGO OUTDOORS SCHEDULE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION 2020 3rd JULY, 2020

The Electoral Officer in charge of the Bongo District in the Upper East Region, Mr. Henry Kanga has officially outdoored the Electoral Commission's [EC] movement schedule for the 2020 voters' registration in the Bongo Constituency.

Addressing honourable Assembly Members last Friday during the Bongo Assembly's first ordinary meeting for 2020 since the 2019 District Level Elections, the EC officer appealed to the house to help educate their constituents on the venues and specific dates for the registration so qualified persons do not miss out. He disclosed that his office had also issued a copy of the schedule to the Bongo Community Radio for intensive public awareness creation on the network about the process.

Mr. Kanga also made an urgent appeal to the Assembly Members and the district's residents in general to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols in order that no one contracts or spreads the deadly virus in the course of the registration. He said the EC's staff both core and temporal had been trained on the safety measures for themselves and members of the public who will turn up for the voter registration and urge people to come out in their numbers to partake in the process which was backed by law. 

Some of the Assembly Members asked for a re-alignment of the registration dates and registration points as in their view, the centres were planned very close to some communities but yet does not include them; the activity only circles around the said areas, moves off then comes back again to now enroll them at a later date. However, Mr. Kanga explained that, the updated registration schedule had been duly gazetted by the EC as mandated under the law and that he, as the district electoral officer could not vary it.

A day’s training workshop for the roll out of a pending nation-wide public education and sensitization campaign on the Single Window Citizens Engagement Service [SWCES], has taken place in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, this Thursday, February 15, 2024. NCCE EDUCATES WOMEN ON RULE OF LAW & ANTICORRUPTION FIGHT 15th OCTOBER, 2025

Over 50 women from various women’s groups, religious bodies, Persons Living with Disabilities and some minority tribes in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region, have been educated on the principles of rule of law and Ghana’s anti-corruption campaign. The one-day education forum held in Paga, the district’s capital, was on the theme “Civic Engagements on the Rule of Law and the Fight Against corruption”. The National Commission for Civic Education [NCCE] is the main implementing agency for these targeted educational campaigns for women’s groups in 60 districts across the 16 regions of Ghana.
